A Case Against Cardio (from a former mileage king) Mark's Daily Apple

Mark's Daily Apple is one of my favorite sites. It contains a wealth of information on healthy living. He advocates living the Primal Lifestyle, which includes eating and training more like our paleo ancestors. Check out the site, there is a ton of info, and it FREE!

This particular post is very relevant for the endurance athlete. Many of us train hours on end, with slow progress, and numerous injuries. Mark makes a case against the chronic cardio, and recommends high intensity training, and more rest. Also, part of the lifestyle is to have fun, and try new things. Many people may enjoy long training sessions, but most will burn out.

Over the past year, I have followed a more primal plan, and enjoyed great results. I have similar fitness training 6 hours a week, than when I was training 10-12 hours a week. Following a more primal diet, I have improved recovery, and have lost 25 pounds.
